The State Agency for Electronic Management (DAEU) has a software solution to prevent the misuse of personal data through modern cryptographic technologies, including blocking. The LogSentinel product provides a secure audit trail and protects the data integrity of government registers and access to them by recording any access to personal data through the central RegiX registers connectivity component supported by the DAEU. This means that the solution makes virtually impossible any attempt to change or delete a trace of access to personal data through the central components of eGovernment and ensure reliable data protection.
An unlimited product license was granted to the Agency by a donation from the Executive Director of LogSentinel Bozhidar Bozhanov and accepted by DAEA Chairman Atanas Temelkov. Such a practice happens for the first time in Bulgaria and is inspired by the example of Estonian developers who give the Estonian state a solution to protect citizens' health records in state registers.
The donation value amounts to 12,500 euros, which will be saved annually from the budgets of each individual institution. The donor LogSentinel also provides free training for employees of the State Agency for Electronic Management to work with the product of the same name.
The software solution can be used by all administrations depending on their readiness. The regulatory requirements for a secure audit trail are set out in the Ordinance on common requirements for information systems, registers and electronic administrative services.
