Bechet is a town in Dolj county, Oltenia region, Danube port.
Bechet is right in the southern part of the county, being the second Danube port in Dolj, after Calafat. The distance from Craiova, the county seat, is about 70 kilometers. As a border town through which Bulgaria can pass, Bechet is not a tourist center for spending a holiday but rather a crossing point for those on vacation. For this reason, the accommodation offer is adapted to these features of the city, being represented by a modest network of villas and hostels offering affordable accommodation.

Being situated in the Danube Lunca, Bechet offers tourists the opportunity to admire the beauty of the landscapes formed by the Danube in its own meadow, the specificity of this low-lying plain strip, which is a good relief for various leisure activities. Thus, in the Danube Delta, Bechet can practice sports such as football or volleyball, picnics and even grills can be organized, while during summer the area is also sought after for the beach.
