        Fundulea (in the past, Cranul-Fundulele) is a town in Calarasi County, Muntenia, Romania, consisting of the commune locality Fundulea (residence), and the villages of Alexandru I. Cuza and Gostilele. It has a population of 6,851 inhabitants. It was declared a town on April 18, 1989. Fundulea town is about 30 km from Bucharest.

        Fundulea is located in the southern part of the country and in the northern part of Calarasi county, about 44 30 north latitude and 24 20 eastern longitude, in the area with extreme continental climate. Located at a distance of 33 kilometers from Bucharest, Fundulea enjoys favorable conditions of location in the territory, being crossed by the main Bucharest Constanta railway line. The settlement is located in the Mostistea manic plain, on the threshold of Baragan near Alexandra Odobescu's childhood trap.
