        Municipality of Boynitsa

        Boynitsa municipality is situated in the most northwest part of Bulgaria and is one of the constituent municipalities of Vidin district. It consists of 8 settlements.

        Natural, cultural and historical sites located on the territory of the municipality are the remains of the Roman fortress Pecino Kale in the village of Boynitsa and the waterfall located between the municipalities of Boynitsa and Kula.
        One of the most significant historical sites on the territory of the municipality is the Albotinski Rock Monastery, near the villages of Gradets and Rabrovo. It was active during the 14th century, evidenced by preserved fragments of frescoes and inscriptions, as well as the ornaments found in the 29 uncivered Christian tombs. In the village of Rabrovo for the first time in the country was established the "Vlashka Association", which has a cultural exchange and links with Vlach-speaking population from regions in Romania, Yugoslavia, Macedonia and Moldova.
